Aimee Mullins: Life Without Limits

Aimee Mullins was a year old when she lost her legs to a surgeon’s knife for fear cancer cells might set up deadly housekeeping there.

She took her first steps at 2 years old. Nothing has stopped her since. Not her constantly changing body image, the taunts of her playmates, or stares of adults.

An accomplished Paralympics athlete at Georgetown University, Aimee decided, that she was ready to morph once again—this time more fully into womanhood. (Sports Illustrated)
